Golden House

The house renovated by Bevilacqua Architects is located in a modernist building from the 1950s and enjoys a breathtaking view of Villa Balestra, perhaps the most beautiful part of the prestigious Parioli neighborhood. The magnificent panorama inspired the idea of reflecting the view from the two large windows of the living room onto a long wall made up of tall smoky glass sliding panels, thus creating a kaleidoscopic effect between the interior and the exterior. The geometric lines of the large brass and mirrored sliding panels stand out for their transparencies and reflections, acting as a link between the classic style of the house, characterized by Italian walnut parquet flooring and stucco wall decorations, and modernity. The apartment is designed as a sequence of continuous spaces and extends longitudinally along a corridor that connects the terraces located at both ends of the dwelling: one adjacent to the living area, wrapped in soft white curtains, and the other in the sleeping area, with a more intimate and internal view. The bathrooms and the walk-in closet are placed in the less luminous part of the apartment. The three bathrooms are clad in black Marquina marble, contrasting with the rest of the house. Gold is the predominant color, echoed and amplified by various elements, such as the smoky mirrors, the two tall pivot doors in brass that separate the rooms from the living area when necessary, and the Scipioni wall lamps, designed by the studio and inspired by the Italian design of Fontana Arte and Gio Ponti.
